Turnchapel Residents' Association (TRA) was established in 2017 as a democratically accountable representative organisation, with a written constitution and formal committee structure, to ensure it works transparently, in the best interests of village residents.
We run a programme of regular public meetings to seek the widest possible range of villagers' views and concerns; minutes are published here for the public record.
Chairman's welcome
Welcome to our website. Turnchapel is an exceptional village with a rich history and vibrant community. The marina run by Yacht Havens is adjacent to the village, there are bus stops nearby and we have a regular ferry service between Plymouth and Mount Batten, a pleasant stroll around the coast from the village.
The Residents' Association supports the social life of the village with events throughout the year, village clean-ups and activities for young and old. We have two pubs serving real ales and good food, as well as the Guard Room café, open every day for food and drinks.
Turnchapel is on the South West Coastal Path and with easy access to beautiful coastal walks is an ideal place to start or finish a walk. Hopefully this website will give you a sense of our village and the people who live and work here.
